About this rug

Fifteen medallions, set in five rows of three, give this Afghan Kazak an all-over layout on a cream field. Two shapes alternate like a chequerboard: red stepped octagons with navy outlines and sky-blue and green centres, and red cross-shaped medallions with green hearts. Small stars and sprigs in red, green and navy fill the gaps. A peach guard stripe leads to the red main border, scattered with ivory and navy snowflake stars, and a thin green line runs round the outside.
