About this rug

Quiet colour is the point of this Kashan. Its ivory centre is cut into a scalloped, lobed shape, with a small grey-taupe star medallion in the middle and loose flower sprays in grey, taupe and soft brown around it; a few plum and ochre petals add warmth up close. Grey-taupe corners and a broad border of rosettes and palmettes frame the field, and short white fringes edge the ends.

Hand-knotted in Iran from natural wool and cotton, it measures 387 × 245 cm and suits a lounge of about 4.5 × 3 m, where the pale field brightens darker floors and furniture. Our Kashan rug collection holds more ivory designs.
