About this rug

Lattice bands close both ends of this hand-knotted red Bokhara from Pakistan, one of them a broad ivory trellis. Between them, sixteen ivory guls with gold quarters line up in two columns, with ornate crosses outlined in dark burgundy in between. In the main border, ivory and gold octagonal rosettes outlined in dark brown alternate along the red ground, scattered with small peach dots, and white fringes finish the short sides.

Knotted in natural wool with a pile of 8 mm, this 164 × 94 cm rug suits the side of a double bed, a front entrance or the floor under a home-office chair. Single-column and double-column gul layouts both appear among our gul-patterned Bokhara rugs.
