About this rug

Twenty-four dark guls in six rows of four give this red Bokhara an open, uncrowded field, with ornate dark stars, dotted in ivory, placed between them. Each gul holds a small ivory cross made of hooks. The border is busier: a central band of slanting panels, each with a dotted cross, sits between two bands of red and dark arrowheads, and a row of small comb-like shapes runs along the outer edge.

Its 193 × 150 cm fits under a coffee table between two armchairs, where the floor space is at least 2.5 × 2.1 m. The natural wool pile is hand-knotted Afghan work, part of our Bokhara rug collection.
