About this rug

Small ivory guls in neat staggered rows cover the wine-red field from edge to edge, each one alternating with a little ivory and grey lozenge. With no medallion to orient it, the pattern looks the same from every side of the room. A dark brown border carries a chain of oval ivory cartouches between striped guards, an extra band of hooked motifs crosses each short end, just inside the ivory fringe.
