About this rug

A mosque fills the top of this prayer rug: a ribbed navy dome with a crescent finial, two slim gold minarets with palm trees beside them, and a row of arched windows below. Under a striped terrace, a red mihrab arch with a lobed top rests on two ivory columns against navy spandrels, with a gold lamp hanging from a chain and peach and ivory flowers near its base. A navy border carries a gold leafy vine with rust and ivory blossoms, and both ends are fringed.

Its navy dome and brick-red niche are coloured with natural vegetable dyes on 100% hand-spun wool, knotted by hand in Afghanistan. Its 133 × 90 cm suits daily prayer, and it also fits a bedside or an entrance. Other prayer rugs and geometric designs are among our fine Chobi rugs.
