About this rug

Crimson red sets off the two rows of ivory guls on this short runner, twelve to a row, each with a small red heart and touches of tan. Dark red crosses link one pair of guls to the next down the centre. The border is built from several narrow stripes of tiny ivory, peach and dark figures, and a band of small diamonds marks each end above the white fringe.

Knotted by hand in Pakistan, its crimson natural wool pile stands about 8 mm high, with some 250 knots to the square inch. At 1.64 m by 65 cm it works in a passage of about 85 to 105 cm, in front of a kitchen counter or beside a bed, and longer runners are part of our Bokhara collection.
