About this rug

This Karachi Bokhara swaps guls for five serrated diamonds stacked in a column, and the red field follows their outline in a stepped zigzag. Each diamond is built from ivory, sand and grey rings around a small red heart, with finely toothed edges. Pink and grey chevrons fill the pale spaces beside the zigzag, and the wide border is a grid of sand panels with small dark brown motifs, divided by grey stripes and closed by a red edge.

Behind the diamonds is a natural wool pile of about 8 mm, hand-knotted in Pakistan at 250 knots per square inch; lay the 166 × 97 cm rug in front of a two-seater sofa or along one side of a queen bed. Gul-pattern versions are in our hand-knotted Bokhara rugs.
