About this rug

A warm peach ground makes this Nain stand out from the more familiar cream and blue. Ivory tendrils curl across it, carrying navy and steel-blue blossoms, and a round ivory medallion ringed in blue sits at the centre with a pendant above and below. The corners turn pale duck-egg blue, and a broad cream border of navy and grey-blue palmettes, set between olive-grey guards, frames the field.

The peach and cream pile mixes wool with silk at a height of about 1/3 inch, and it was hand-knotted in Iran. It has the size, 285 × 200 cm, to sit crosswise under a king bed or to hold a sofa and two chairs in a sitting room near 3.45 × 2.6 m, and it is found in our Nain collection.
