About this rug

Pale blue gives a cool note to the warm taupe of this ivory Kashan. The blue appears at the heart of a lobed, diamond-shaped taupe medallion and again in the corners, which are a deeper brown-taupe. Fine sprays of navy, blue and taupe flowers fill the ivory lozenge around the medallion, while the broad brown border carries cream and blue palmettes along its length.

Taupe, navy and pale blue wool (100%) is knotted onto a cotton foundation in this rug, which was made in Kashan, Iran. Given its 290 × 190 cm, picture it in a room of about 3.5 × 2.5 m, or under a table that seats four to six; it belongs to our Kashan collection.
