About this rug

Instead of one large medallion, this Kashan has a small lobed one at the centre, extended by a spine of palmettes that runs up and down the cream field almost to its ends. Fine sprays of navy, olive and gold flowers, with the odd touch of rust, cover the rest of the cream, and stone-beige corners frame it. Small rust-red rosettes punctuate the stone-coloured main border at intervals, between several narrow navy and sand stripes; knotted by hand in Iran, its natural wool pile is roughly 13 mm deep. This 310 × 200 cm size fills a living room of at least 3.7 × 2.6 m, or goes crosswise under a king bed with around 60 cm showing on each side. See our Kashan collection.
