About this rug

On a plain crimson ground, a sage-green lobed medallion with an ivory core of small red, navy and gold flowers stands out at once. Sprays of ivory blossom ring it, and smaller sage pendants crown it above and below. Sage-green corners, edged with ivory flowers, curve in towards the middle from each corner of the field.

The navy main border holds sage, ivory and gold rosettes on scrolling vines, between mauve stripes. It was hand-knotted in Iran's Kerman province, in 100% natural wool. It will take a 2.5 × 1.25 m table and its chairs in a dining room. Compare its open crimson field with the other handmade Persian rugs.
