About this rug

Turquoise against cherry red gives this akche a fresh, almost contemporary look. The field has rows of deep red octagons with dark outlines and turquoise trim, and between them sit bright turquoise crosses shaped like four-petal flowers. In the border, a tangerine band carries small rosettes, a dark green band holds orange and ivory diamonds, and the outermost band is striped diagonally like a candy cane.

Afghan-made in 100% natural wool, with a pile listed at 1/3 inch (close to 8 mm), it covers the floor of a room roughly 2.6 × 2.1 m at 200 × 150 cm, or sits at the foot of a double bed with space to spare at each side. Other bright colourways are listed in the Afghan akche woollen rug range.
