About this rug

Four long columns of guls, thirteen in each, run from end to end of this red Bokhara, and between the columns the dark star motifs link up into continuous chains, picked out with ivory dots and zigzags. The guls themselves are small, dark octagons holding ivory hooks. Chocolate brown dominates the wide border, where a line of red diamonds, each with an ivory-dotted centre, is set between sprigs of red leaves.
