Description

This is a finely woven Kashan rug, known for its elegant symmetry and detailed floral composition. The design features a well-defined central medallion set within a densely decorated field of scrolling vines, flowers, and palmettes, all arranged with excellent balance and clarity. The drawing is refined and precise, which is characteristic of quality Kashan workshop weaving.

The colour palette is soft and sophisticated, built around a warm ivory and cream field.

About this rug

At almost four metres long, this cream Kashan is meant for a big room, for example an open-plan living and dining space of around 4.5 by 3.5 m. Its medallion is small for the size, a round taupe rosette with a navy dot at the centre, so most of the ivory field is open ground for fine sprays of blue and grey flowers. Broad greige corners and a greige main border with blue and navy rosettes give it a soft, even frame.

Every part of it is knotted by hand, using 100% wool, in the Iranian city of Kashan. Its soft colouring keeps even a large room light, and it belongs to our Kashan rugs.
