Description

This is a finely woven Kashan rug, known for its elegant symmetry and detailed floral composition. The design features a well-defined central medallion set within a densely decorated field of scrolling vines, flowers, and palmettes, all arranged with excellent balance and clarity. The drawing is refined and precise, which is characteristic of quality Kashan workshop weaving.
This Rug is woven with a special signature on the top of the Rug (city and surname written).

Condition : in Vintage Condition, Has Age Related wear.

About this rug

Fine scrolling arabesques cover the navy ground of this Kashan, curling around palmettes and small flowers drawn in ivory, sand and light blue. In the middle, a round sunburst medallion in sand and ivory radiates outward, and the four sand-coloured corners pick up its tone. The navy main border holds pale rosettes and cartouches between beige guard stripes, and a signature panel is knotted into the top end.

From Kashan in Iran, it was made by hand-knotting 100% wool. With 350 × 260 cm to work with, this Kashan rug suits a lounge of roughly 4.1 by 3.2 m, or a dining table seating eight.
