A beautiful Persian Kashan rug, hand-knotted in Iran from 100% wool. It features an elegant red central medallion against a deep navy-blue field, filled with finely detailed floral motifs. Rich red borders and ivory corner details are complemented by soft blue, green, gold and beige accents.

The rug is in good condition with minor age-related wear. A timeless statement piece for a large living room, dining room or formal interior.

About this rug

On a navy field packed with small flowers, the red medallion of this Kashan has a stepped, notched outline like a cut diamond. Inside it, an ivory stepped centre frames a slate-blue core, and red pendants tipped with ivory palmettes point to each end. The navy field is an oval set into red corners whose ivory quarter-panels are touched with cobalt, and the red main border runs scrolling navy and ivory vines between ivory and blue guard stripes.

Its navy field, red medallion and ivory corners are all hand-knotted 100% wool from Kashan, Iran. Red-field versions of this layout are among the Kashan rugs in our handmade range.
