About this rug

Flower vases give this Kashan its name and its character. Small urns with blossoming sprays, plumed green and gold plants and clusters of white flowers are arranged symmetrically on a red field with a bracketed, step-cornered outline. The centre is an indigo medallion around an ivory core of tiny red and navy flowers, flanked left and right by diamond panels of ivory and blue lattice. Large plume-like palmettes fill the indigo corners, and the indigo border repeats vases and sprays between ivory and sky-blue guards.
