About this rug

Charcoal-grey guls on a warm golden-beige field give this small Bokhara a lighter look than the red pieces in the range. Seven guls line each side, with ivory detail inside, and a column of stepped charcoal diamonds runs between the two rows. A broad charcoal border carries ivory rosettes and fine motifs, with a band of large grey hexagons across each end and a white fringe.

Pakistani knotters tied it by hand in natural wool, 250 knots to every square inch. Its size, 125 × 84 cm, fits the floor by a bed, a front entrance or a reading nook, where the pale ground can brighten a dark wooden or tiled floor. Red and brown versions of this two-column layout appear in our Bokhara range.
