About this rug

Cobalt blue and saffron yellow give this Akche strong contrast. Three columns of eight rust-orange octagons cover the field, each quartered in green and ivory around a gold centre, with saffron crosses of pointed arms placed between them. Thin orange and blue zigzag lines frame the field. The inner border carries stepped saffron flowers on blue, and the outer one is a row of curled yellow and green leaves on rust red, finished by white fringes.

Afghan hands tied its 100% natural wool, in saffron and cobalt, with 80 knots in each square inch. At 189 × 113 cm, plan on roughly 2.5 × 1.7 m of floor for this colourful Akche rug, for example at the foot of a bed or in front of a couch.
