About this rug

The minor motifs on this Bokhara do more than fill gaps: dark stars dotted with ivory are joined by small zigzags into continuous chains, which run between the four columns of guls like ladders. Each column has seven dark octagonal guls holding ivory crosses of hooks, 28 in total, on a bright red ground. The border sets a band of slanted panels with dotted crosses between two rows of red and dark arrowheads.

Measuring 193 × 149 cm, it suits a smaller sitting room or a guest bedroom with 2.5 × 2.1 m or more of floor. Its 100% natural wool pile is the work of Afghan knotters, and the rug is filed with our Bokhara rugs.
