About this rug

A bold dark lattice takes up nearly half the width of this akche, enclosing big red diamonds on all four sides. Inside it, four large guls stand in a single column on the red field. Each has near-black corners and a central panel of small rings crossed by an X, and dark sprigs branch out beside them. Curled dark leaves and a saw-tooth line complete the outer edge, with white fringes at the ends.

Its size is 198 × 100 cm, and Afghan knotters tied its natural wool by hand. Use this akche wool rug by the front door, beside a bed, or down a corridor of 1.2–1.4 m.
