About this rug

Rows of small ivory roundels, four across, dot the emerald green field of this akche, each with a gold and orange centre. Burgundy crosses sit in the spaces between them. Around the field, dark plum bands carry curling saffron-gold motifs that resemble ram's horns, separated by a narrow pale blue stripe of tiny crosses, and a dark green edge leads to the fringe.

Made in Afghanistan, with natural wool cut to a pile close to 8 mm and a size of 247 × 161 cm, it can sit under a coffee table with the front feet of a three-seater sofa resting on it, in a living area of around 3.1 × 2.2 m. Other ground colours in a similar layout are in our akche rug range.
