About this rug

A broad border of many fine bands in silver-grey and beige surrounds the crimson field of this Karachi jaldar, one band lined with small red lozenges and another, at each end, with a row of little arches. The field is covered in a net of stepped diamonds: ivory snowflake-like diamonds alternate with smaller grey-green ones, linked on the diagonal by lines of dark dots. Both ends carry a white fringe.
