About this rug

This design reads like a garden from one end to the other. Weeping branches in cornflower blue and rose pink hang from the top of the ivory field, flowering trees rise through the middle, and pairs of small birds perch among the blossoms. Towards the lower end, a lobed ivory panel sits on a camel-coloured ground, framed by more flowering stems.

The navy main border is packed with tiny pink, ivory and blue flowers, inside narrow floral stripes, and the rug itself was hand-knotted in Iran, in 100% natural wool. A study, entrance or bedroom of about 3.15 × 2.1 m suits its 255 × 150 cm, and because the design has a top and a bottom, it looks best from the end where the trees stand upright.
