About this rug

Four ivory hooked motifs stand in a row across each end panel of this akche. The field is a soft coral red with 55 dark guls, five across and eleven down, each holding a cross of ivory and gold hooks, while dark stepped stars with small ivory chevrons line up between the columns. The sides are framed by a band of diagonal stripes and a row of small red crosses.

Natural wool from Afghanistan, hand-knotted with an 8 mm pile and finished with ivory fringes, makes it a fit for a lounge near 3.4 × 2.6 m or a 1.6 m by 0.8 m dining table and chairs. Different gul layouts appear across our akche range.
