284 x 185cm Hand Woven Wool Antique Kilim Barjesta Geometric Medallion Rug

A highly distinctive Afghan Kilim Barjesta centred on a monumental Tree-of-Life composition. A strong vertical trunk supports sweeping symmetrical branches, with a large red floral medallion forming the visual heart of the design. The architectural layout gives the rug an almost ceremonial presence.

The surrounding border is filled with repeated branching tribal motifs in alternating tones, while finely striped kilim panels extend across both ends. Raised wool work brings depth and definition to the imagery against the flatwoven cream ground.
