About this rug

Only three tones are at work in this Kashan: cream, a soft stone grey and a dark charcoal brown. The charcoal draws fine vines and blossoms across the cream field, while the medallion is an open, lace-like diamond in stone and charcoal around a small square centre. Stone-grey corners curve in from all four sides, so the cream ground reads as a lobed oval. The border is stone grey too, linking charcoal palmettes with looping vines between two narrow dotted guards.

Charcoal, stone and cream alike are 100% wool, tied by hand in Kashan, Iran. Grey, white or timber furniture sits easily with the neutral palette. Warmer colourways are among our Kashan rugs.
