About this rug

Down the very centre of this maroon Afghan akhche runner, the small crosses between the guls join into one continuous chain, like a spine. On either side, small dark guls with ivory zigzags stand in two columns. The borders are darker still, with serrated black-brown leaves and a band of small rosettes, and the end band carries ivory arrowhead shapes above a short beige fringe.
