About this rug

Quiet is the word for this one. The cream field carries only light sprays of flowers in olive, rust and slate blue, gathering at the centre into a faint rosette rather than a bold medallion, so the ground stays airy. Soft sand tones fill the corners and the main border, where rosettes in olive khaki and rust alternate along a thin vine, several fine khaki stripes separate the bands, and there is a short ivory fringe at each end.

The Ardakan design was hand-knotted in Kashan, Iran, using 100% wool. This 302 × 193 cm rug can anchor a sofa and two chairs where the floor runs to roughly 3.6 by 2.5 metres, and it belongs to our Persian rugs made by hand.
