About this rug

Laid out as an even lattice, the ivory field of this Moud has no medallion at all. Lilac cross-shaped panels with small brick-red centres alternate with pale sage-green eight-pointed stars, each holding a light-blue rosette, and columns of olive and brown tulip-like palmettes link them from end to end, with fine grey vines in between.

The khaki main border is a trellis of small brick-red and ivory lozenges, set between pale blue-grey stripes dotted with red. The pile, 100% natural wool, was tied by hand in Iran.
