About this rug

Serrated rust-red petals form a sunburst around a dark indigo disc at the centre of this rug, with a small ivory and gold rosette in the middle. Two rust pendants shaped like fleurs-de-lis point up and down its length. Behind them the ivory field is covered edge to edge in a fine mahi lattice of rust and navy, and the corners turn indigo, meeting the ivory along a scalloped line.

A rust-red border of ivory and navy palmettes runs between pale guards. Made in Iran, it was hand-tied in 100% natural wool and measures 327 × 217 cm, right for a sitting room of around 3.9 × 2.8 m, or for the space under a sofa and two armchairs. The sunburst Moud belongs to our handmade Persian rug range.
