About this rug

Nearly square at 355 × 300 cm, this rug from our Mashad collection has a cream field crowded with small flowers in blue, green, rust and pink, all circling a crimson star-shaped medallion with a navy and ivory centre. Crimson corners and a wide crimson main border, filled with navy, green and ivory palmettes, wrap the cream on every side, with pale grey-blue guard stripes in between, all hand-knotted in Iran with a half-inch natural wool pile. The near-square format takes a round or rectangular dining table as big as 2.1 × 1.6 m, or covers a living room of around 4.15 × 3.6 m.
