About this rug

A round starburst in pale sand marks the centre of this Kashan, made of curling ivory arabesques around a deep-red rosette, with sprays of flowers radiating from its points. Across the cream field, burgundy, slate-blue and gold blossoms sit on fine scrolling stems, and the scalloped field gives way to golden-beige corners. The wide golden-beige border repeats burgundy and grey rosettes along a vine, framed by narrow ivory stripes.

Kashan weavers in Iran tied every knot by hand in 100% wool, and at 390 × 285 cm it covers about 11 m². Our handmade Kashan rugs include more light, neutral pieces.
