Description

This is a classic red Kashan carpet, hand-knotted in Iran using high-quality wool. It features the traditional Kashan layout with a strong central medallion, dense floral detailing, and deep navy borders that frame the rich red field beautifully. The drawing is refined and well balanced, which is typical of good Kashan workshop pieces.

The rug is in good condition with a full pile throughout. The only noticeable characteristic is natural abrash, visible as gentle tonal variations in the red field. This is not damage or wear. It comes from hand-dyed wool and is a sign of authentic, traditional production, adding depth and character rather than detracting from the rug.

The handle is firm yet supple, suitable for both formal living spaces and everyday use. This piece works especially well in lounges, dining rooms, or larger sitting areas where a strong Persian statement is desired.
