This is a finely woven Kashan rug, known for its elegant symmetry and detailed floral composition. About this rug

Instead of a solid medallion, this cream Kashan has a starburst: flowering vines in navy and grey-blue radiate from a small rosette at the centre and thin out towards the corners. A few blossoms carry tiny touches of red. The field flows into a cream border of navy flowers on a winding stem, held between narrow grey guards, so the rug reads as one soft, even surface.

The navy and grey-blue flowers are knotted by hand in pure wool, in Kashan, Iran. Six dining chairs and their table fit on its 301 × 197 cm, or it can cover the middle of a sitting room of some 3.6 × 2.6 m; it is filed with our Kashan rugs.
