About this rug

Down the denim-blue field of this runner, three crimson star medallions with hooked edges, centred in navy and olive green and flecked with gold, alternate with two smaller ivory ones. Little rosettes fill the gaps, and the ivory main border carries crimson and navy flower heads between narrow red and navy stripes. Hand-spun wool was knotted in Afghanistan at 80 knots to the square inch to make this Kazak. At 192 × 81 cm, the blue and crimson runner fits a hallway between 1 and 1.2 m wide, sits alongside a bed or lines the strip in front of kitchen counters; it is one of the runners among our Kazak rugs.
