About this rug

A cream ground sets off the three medallions of this hand-knotted Afghan Kazak, stacked on the centre line: brick-red rosettes with navy petals at the top and bottom, and between them a sage-green hooked diamond holding a leafy motif. Small crosses, stars and arrow-shaped hooks in slate and sage are scattered across the hand-spun wool around them. The brick-red main border is lined with ivory wheel-like rosettes inside slate-blue stripes, and a short fringe finishes each end. Sized at 147 × 103 cm, this cream rug from our Afghan Kazak rugs suits a bedside, a front door or a reading chair, or the floor under a small coffee table.
