About this rug

Measuring 410 × 304 cm, this Kashan is built around a red lozenge medallion that opens to a small lilac and ivory rosette. Dense flowering vines fill the navy field around it, and red returns in the four corners beyond the scalloped edge of that field. The borders pair a wide red band of palmettes with narrow ivory and beige stripes.

Iranian weavers knotted it by hand in natural wool, to a pile depth of roughly 13 mm. For scale, it covers most of a room measuring 4.7 × 3.6 m, leaving about 30 cm of floor along each side. Compare its red medallion with the other designs in the handmade Persian rug range.
