About this rug

A scalloped, plum-red centre with pointed ends fills most of this silk-and-wool Jaipur, traced all over with cream flowering vines. Its medallion is built in layers, from a black frame through olive and gold to a powder-blue core, with a small black diamond above and below. Ivory fills the surround, and pale blue-grey pieces soften the four corners. The wide dark border is worked with green and cream palmettes, and cream fringe trims each short end.
