About this rug

Large stepped diamonds with hooked outlines march down both side borders of this runner, linked by dark angular scrolls, which gives it a bold frame. The red field between them carries two rows of navy octagons with ivory and red centres, separated by small cross-shaped motifs, and the diamonds return in a band across the end panel above a white fringe.

Knotted by hand in Afghanistan in natural wool, at about 80 knots per square inch, this runner is 76 cm wide, which suits a narrow hallway of 96 to 116 cm; at 2.9 m long it can also follow the length of a kitchen island. Compare it with other Bokhara pattern rugs.
