About this rug

Twenty small guls line up in two columns of ten along this narrow Bokhara, each a dark octagon with an ivory cross of hooks. A chain of dark crosses runs down the centre line between them, with tiny ivory zigzags. Rather than one wide border, a stack of slim dark bands frames the rust-red field: small rosettes, a wavy line, rows of dots and a saw-tooth outer edge.

This hand-knotted Afghan Bokhara rug, 193 × 96 cm in natural wool, can run down a hallway about 1.2 to 1.3 m across, or lie at the side of a bed.
