About this rug

Warm tangerine orange frames this kilim, and the centre is a chain of diamonds pieced from small triangles in orange, rust, lime and cream. Small lilac and pale-blue diamonds mark the heart of each one. Around the centre runs a broad cream border lined with little stepped lozenges in lime, lilac, navy, pale blue and orange. The outer edge is orange with lime and navy teeth, and grey fringes hang from both ends.

Its tangerine, lime and cream yarns are 100% natural wool, hand-woven as a flatweave in Afghanistan. With a width of 76 cm and a length of 202 cm, it will run comfortably down a hallway between about 96 and 116 cm wide, or along the side of a bed, and it belongs to our kilim rugs and runners.
