About this rug

Small sprays of ivory and gold flowers are scattered thinly over the red ground of this Tabriz, leaving most of it open. That space sets off the navy medallion at the centre: a cusped shape outlined in ivory around a red quatrefoil touched with gold, with peach and ivory side arms tipped in green. Navy palmette pendants point towards both ends. Lime-green leaves and ivory scrolls fill the navy corners, and the deep navy-brown border repeats red, salmon, green and gold palmettes between rust guard stripes.
