About this rug

Straight lines and stepped edges define this Tabriz. A navy medallion with hooked, angular arms and an ivory and red centre sits on a red field shaped like a long octagon, and ivory corners fill the cut-away ends. Across the red, small angular flowers, leaves and stars in navy, cream, olive and pale blue are spaced evenly. The navy main border repeats the geometry with red and ivory motifs, edged by olive stripes.

Tabriz weavers in Iran knotted its 100% wool by hand. The 280 × 200 cm footprint works in a home office, under a dining table for four to six, or in a room measuring 3.4 by 2.6 metres; it is part of our Tabriz collection.
