About this rug

This chobi has no medallion: narrow vertical stripes of rust, ochre, navy, black, teal, pale blue and ivory run its length, each filled with small zigzags, hooks or tiny diamonds. The colours change from stripe to stripe, which gives the field a lively rhythm. A border of linked ivory octagons on navy and rust runs around the stripes, and cream fringes finish the ends.

Each stripe, with its own run of hooks or zigzags, was hand-knotted in Afghanistan, and natural vegetable dyes colour the hand-spun wool. It is easy to place in a child's room, an entrance or a play corner close to 2.1 × 1.6 m. Our Afghan chobi collection includes more geometric pieces.
