About this rug

A pale ivory field and a deep burgundy border give this chobi a strong frame. Inside, sage and olive vines curve into a regular lattice, with a large rosette or palmette in each loop and small red buds and leaves scattered between. The border carries beige and sage palmettes on the burgundy ground, set between narrow beige stripes.

Afghan knotting in hand-spun wool gives the burgundy frame and sage lattice a pile about 8 mm deep. At 162 × 98 cm it fits beside a bed, in front of a fireplace or in an entrance hall of about 2.2 × 1.6 m. Other chobi rugs in the range use similar lattices of vines and palmettes.
