About this rug

A navy medallion with scalloped edges spreads across the middle of the crimson field, and at its heart an ivory diamond frames a small cornflower-blue rosette. Blue, ivory and gold flowers on fine vines fill the red around it, the navy corners carry ivory and blue motifs, and the dark main border is lined with red and ivory palmettes. As the name says, the pile is thick, about 1/2 inch (13 mm) deep, and Iranian weavers tied every knot of its natural wool by hand.
