About this rug

Down the centre line of this deep crimson Bokhara, charcoal diamonds with ivory hearts and hooked points alternate between two columns of eight ivory guls picked out in gold and red. Smaller hooks edge the field on both sides. In the border, ivory and gold octagons take turns on red between dark stripes, and a gold lattice band at each end leads to a white fringe.

The crimson, ivory and gold natural wool was hand-knotted in Pakistan, to a pile of around 8 mm. It is sized for a study or bedroom corner of about 2.1 × 1.6 m, though it also fits the floor beside a bed. Other reds, from cherry to raspberry, sit among our Bokhara rugs.
