About this rug

Made in Pakistan from natural wool, knotted by hand, this tribal Shirwan from our Bokhara rugs is built around one ivory medallion with stepped, hooked edges and a chocolate-brown heart, set in the middle of a crimson field. Small stars and flowers are dotted around it, and mustard-gold corner pieces with hooked inner edges frame the field. The slate-blue border carries crimson and ivory star-flowers between narrow ivory stripes, and white fringes finish the short ends. At 203 × 141 cm, the crimson and gold rug suits a sitting area of 2.6 × 2 m or more, the floor under a coffee table facing a small sofa, or the lower end of a double bed.
